Tour Itinerary

DAY 01 : Arrive in Hanoi
 
  • Arrive in Hanoi. Meet / assist at the airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of day is at leisure.
 
    • Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Hanoi.
 
DAY 02 : Hanoi
 
  • Breakfast at hotel.
 
  • Then depart the hotel for the Temple of Literature. In 1076, The university functioned for an incredible 700 years and its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam's past. Also visit the One Pillar Pagoda, founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049, next. Close by is the mausoleum of the historic father figure of modern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, and the former presidents house on stilts where he lived from 1958 to 1969. (viewed from outside; closed Monday and Friday and From October to November) Continue to picturesque West Lake and the Sixth Century Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda. From here transfer to the nearby Taoist Temple of Quan Thanh dedicated to Tran Vu, one of the principal deities in Taoism.
 
  • After lunch and in the afternoon, visit the fascinating Ethnology Museum (Closed Mondays), and Hanoi's Old Quarter, also known as the '36 streets'. Take a walking tour through charming Hang Be Market and around Hoan Kiem Lake. Finish the day with a Water Puppet Show.
 
  • Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stat in Hanoi.
 
 
DAY 03 : Hanoi / Halong Bay
 
  • After breakfast leave Hanoi for an overnight boat trip on Halong Bay. Journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and observe everyday life of Vietnamese villagers as they work the rice fields, take pigs to the market on bicycles and plough the fields with their water buffaloes.
 
  • Arrive in Halong City late morning and board your traditional wooden junk or a classic colonial era replica steamship, The Emeraude, for the overnight journey into the Bay.
    Lunch will be served en-route.
 
  • Cruise by rock formations with such names as Sail, Dog and Dinh Huong (incense pot). Towards the end of the day set anchor for the night. As the sun sets over the bay dinner is served on board with fresh seafood, salads, and fruits.
 
  • Overnight on Halong Bay.
 
 
DAY 04 : Halong Bay / Danang by flight – Hoi An
 
  • Breakfast on board.
 
  • Return to Halong City enjoying a wholesome brunch as the boat wends it way through strangely shaped limestone rock formations. Disembark and transfer to Haiphong for a flight onward to Danang International airport. On arrival in Danang, meet / assist and transfer to Hoi An, Dinner and overnight stay in Hoi An.
 
 
DAY 05 : Hoi An
 
  • Breakfast at hotel.
 
  • Take a walking tour of the ancient town center to visit the Former Merchants' Homes, the 400 Year - Old Japanese Covered Bridge and the Colorful Market.
    Rest of the day at leisure. All meals and over night stay in Hoi An.
 
 
 
 
DAY 06 : Hoi An / Ho Chi Minh City by flight
 
  • After breakfast transfer to visit An Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries whose architecture and relaxed lifestyle has changed little over the years. Visiting the classic and informative Cham Museum in Danang.
 
  • Then transfer to the Airport for the short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival meet / assist at the airport and transfer to the hotel. En route lunch.
 
  • And visit the War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace. Stroll to the major sights of colonial Ho Chi Minh City: Cathedral North Dame, the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall Check in at hotel for dinner and over night stay.
 
 
 
 
DAY 07 : Ho Chi Minh City / Mekong Delta / Ho Chi Minh City
 
  • Breakfast at hotel.
 
  • The colorful floating market, vast emerald rice fields and lush back waterways are the things that make Cai Be such a desired destination. This morning, leave bustling Ho Chi Minh for the 2 hour drive to the delta town of Cai Be. On arrival board a boat for a cruise of Cai Be Floating Market. After visiting the market continue to a Cottage Factory where 'pop-rice', rice paper and coconut candies are made. Return to the boat for the cruise to Dong Hoa Hiep Island, admiring the scenery and the daily life of the local villagers along the way.
 
  • Lunch is local Mekong style serving specialties of the area.
  Return to Ho Chi Minh City late afternoon.

DAY 08 : Ho Chi Minh City / Cu Chi Tunnels / Ho Chi Minh City
 
  • Breakfast at hotel.
 
  • Depart Ho Chi Minh City at 08:00 in the morning for the drive to Cu Chi district. Arrive and start the visit of the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which consist of an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters (Viet Cong) during both the French and American wars. Start the visit with the Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc sections of the tunnel. Here you can imagine what it was like to be a guerrilla complete with Russian Carbine rifles and AK 47's on display.
 
  • Return to Ho Chi Minh City for Lunch at Ancient Town.
 
  • This afternoon, our tour includes the Cholon, the Chinatown district, Vietnam's First
 
  • Traditional Medicine Museum, the FITO Museum, with an amazing collection of 3,000 items relevant to the development of traditional Vietnamese medicine. Head back to the city center to visit Ben Thanh Market where an incredible display of fresh produce is offered.
 
  • Simply stroll through the market exploring the variety of goods for sale.
  Return to the hotel for dinner and over night stay.
 
 
DAY 09 : Depart Ho Chi Minh City 
 
  • Breakfast at hotel.
  At leisure for shopping until transferring to the Airport for onward flight
